The role
You’ll be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from planning and building new features to debugging issues and improving performance. While you’ll work across the stack, the focus is on back-end development, particularly in PHP and MySQL. You’ll also work with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It’s a hands-on role with lots of variety and plenty of opportunity to make an impact.
Responsibilities
- Build and improve customer-facing features end-to-end
- Collaborate with the CTO on planning and design decisions
- Write clean, secure code and ensure quality through best practices and code reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development and production environments
- Develop and maintain integrations with third-party platforms
- Manage your work through Bitbucket and our Kanban system
Skills & Experience
Required
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer
- Strong PHP 8+ skills
- Solid understanding of MySQL and database design
- Confident with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Comfortable using Git for version control
- Experience with Docker
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
- Clear communicator, able to work independently
- Awareness of performance, scalability, and security best practice
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Unrestricted right to work in the UK, with no visa sponsorship required
Nice to have
- Experience in CodeIgniter
- Experience with AWS
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Experience working in a Kanban workflow
