The Doc2 HubSpot integration pulls Contact, Company and Deal data from your HubSpot CRM into the documents you create, and pushes eSigning activity back: a timeline event when a document is sent, and the signed PDF when everyone has signed. It also adds a Doc2 card to HubSpot records so you can start a document from the record.
You need a Doc2 account on a plan that includes the HubSpot app, and a HubSpot user with permission to install apps.
1. Install the app
In Doc2, go to Settings, then Apps.
Click Install on the HubSpot app, then Install Now.
Log in to HubSpot if prompted, choose the account to connect, and grant Doc2 the access it asks for.
You are returned to Doc2 with the app showing as connected.
2. Configure the app
Pull data into a template
Go to Templates. Click the three dots next to the template, then Edit template; click the three dots next to the latest version, then Edit.
Find the field you want to look up from (for example ESIGN:NAME1) and set its Field type to App integration.
Set Data source to HubSpot and the data type to Contact, Company or Deal.
Set Data source field to the HubSpot property to use (for example Full Name) and Template field to the field it fills (for example ESIGN:NAME1). Repeat for each field the lookup should fill.
Click Save. Click Test to try it.
Push eSigning activity to HubSpot
Go to Settings, Apps, and click Manage on the HubSpot app.
Open Push data to HubSpot, select the templates to push from, and click Save.
Show templates on HubSpot records
In the same Manage screen, open View templates in HubSpot.
Select the templates to show, and click Save.
3. Use the app
Creating a document: type in the lookup field and choose the matching HubSpot record. The mapped fields fill from HubSpot.
When a document is sent for eSigning: Doc2 adds a timeline event to the contact matched by email address, creating the contact if none exists, and to the contact’s primary company.
When a document is signed by all parties: Doc2 adds a timeline event and attaches the signed PDF to the same contact and company.
From HubSpot: the Doc2 card on a contact, company or deal lists your selected templates; click one to start that document in Doc2.
Only documents created after push is enabled are pushed. Documents are associated with contacts and companies, not deals.
4. Disconnect the app
In Doc2, go to Settings, Apps, click Manage on the HubSpot app, and click Disable. Doc2 stops reading from and writing to your HubSpot account. Documents already created in Doc2 and activity already pushed to HubSpot are unaffected. Reconnect at any time by installing again.
5. Uninstall the app
To remove Doc2 from HubSpot itself, follow HubSpot’s guide to managing connected apps. Disconnect in Doc2 first, so Doc2 does not attempt further pushes.
Troubleshooting
A HubSpot property is missing from the Data source field list: in Settings, Apps, Manage on the HubSpot app, open Pull data from HubSpot and click Refresh fields.
Activity is not visible on a contact or company: on the record’s Activity tab, click Filter activity and make sure Doc2 is selected under Integrations.
